- ALIGN
- PIVOTE
- DISTURB
- CONNECTION
- LADDER
- IDEA
- SPANGRAM: BUSINESS TALK
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: 2 tips
At the time, I found myself on the board of directors of a short-lived and dysfunctional startup that had somehow managed to siphon off investments from a couple of gullible billionaires.
During this time, I attended many meetings where words like DISRUPTION and IDEATE were thrown around – without anyone actually knowing what they meant.
Eventually, I realized that it didn’t matter what they meant; just that they made the person saying them feel like they knew what they meant.
Anyway, I digress. Let’s talk about today’s Strands. Despite my familiarity with CORPORATESPEAK, I had trouble getting started and followed a few clues.
ALIGN and PIVOT got me moving, but I had a hard time putting all of my buzzwords together.
By the way, if you’re ever in a meeting and you hear someone say PIVOT, then you’re in big trouble. This usually means the company is heading toward bankruptcy.
