ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday directed relevant ministries and departments to accelerate work on integrating private sector proposals into a unified industrial policy framework, stressing that coordinated decision-making was essential for sustainable economic growth.
Chairing a meeting of the private sector committee on national industrial development, he said the government was seeking to translate experts’ recommendations into workable reforms without delay.
He stressed that the country’s economic growth, job creation and increased income would not be possible without industrial development.
During the meeting, the private sector members of the committee presented their recommendations aimed at industrial development of the country and increasing investments in the country, which the Prime Minister welcomed and said that the private sector proposals were of paramount importance for the industrial development of the country.
The business community has diligently prepared comprehensive proposals for industrial development, which are commendable,” he said, adding that after careful consideration of these proposals, an implementation plan will be formulated.
The Prime Minister appreciated these proposals and requested that they be merged with recommendations from other economic sectors and integrated into the national policy framework.
He said measures to make doing business easier and increase investment were the government’s top priorities.
Pakistani business community supported government policies in difficult times and helped the country overcome economic challenges, the Prime Minister said, adding that by the grace of Allah, the country’s economic leadership had improved and Pakistan was moving forward.
However, he stressed that there is a need to work even harder to ensure national development.
During the meeting, a comparison with regional countries was also shared to highlight ways to increase the competitiveness of Pakistani industry.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday held a meeting with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to review issues related to the province.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the discussion covered key administrative and development-related issues regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The two leaders also exchanged views on the overall political situation in the country.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Engineer Gilgit-Baltistan and Border Areas Amir Muqam and Federal Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Iqbal also attended the meeting.
