Keir Starmer reveals his stance on US calls for Andrew’s testimony

Sir Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has just spoken out about disgraced former royal Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and backed his calls to appear before the US Congress to testify against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

He presented his views at the G20 summit in South Africa and was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “Anyone who has relevant information regarding these types of cases should testify.” »

While admitting that “ultimately it will be his decision”, the Prime Minister made clear that “my general position is: if you have relevant information, you should be prepared to share it”.

For those unaware of the subpoena the disgraced former royal received, it came via Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee and they issued it in the form of a letter urging Andrew to present his testimony.

It is well known from old photographic evidence that the sex offender and Andrew were friends. Email correspondence between them was also leaked, following reports published by the Mail on Sunday.

MP Suhas Subramanyam, a member of the scrutiny committee, also welcomed this comment from Sir Kier and said: “Prime Minister Starmer is right: Andrew should provide us with any information he has that could help our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. »

“There is clear evidence that they were friendly. This is an opportunity for Andrew to clear his name if he has done nothing wrong, and bring long-awaited justice to the victims.”
