Check out the new lowest fare for Pakistan Railways luxury coaches aimed at middle-class travelers

Public Relations Spokesperson Says Passengers Will Now Enjoy Comfortable and Luxurious Travel

Pakistan Railways has announced a notable reduction in fares for passengers opting for luxury travel. New luxury coach fares have been significantly reduced to make premium travel more accessible, according to a railway spokesperson.

The spokesperson revealed that the fare of luxury coaches between Karachi and Rawalpindi has been fixed at Rs 172,000, while the fare between Karachi and Lahore is now Rs 150,000. Moreover, the fare of the route from Lahore to Rawalpindi has been reduced to just Rs 44,000.

“Passengers will now be able to enjoy a comfortable and luxurious journey in the minister’s lounge,” the spokesperson added.

Earlier, a key meeting was chaired by Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi, during which the performance of the railway police was discussed. During the session, it was revealed that following the minister’s directives, the ticket control campaign was made more effective.

Abbasi warned that passengers traveling without tickets and those facilitating such travel would face legal action. “Those who travel without a ticket will face imprisonment,” he said, calling for strict measures against ticketless travel to continue.

The meeting also discussed the efforts of the Railway Police to combat theft, smuggling and other crimes, highlighting the implementation of the anti-encroachment policy. Abbasi’s directives to remove decades-old encroachments on railway land continue with the railway police ensuring that every inch of railway land is reclaimed.

In June, Pakistan Railways announced that its luxury lounge cars, previously reserved for senior government officials, would now be available for booking by the general public.

According to Express Newsthe decision was taken on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The initiative aimed to extend premium travel facilities to common citizens and optimize the utilization of existing railway resources.

Five luxury saloons, which had been used by the Prime Minister, federal ministers, Chairman of Pakistan Railways, Director General and Inspector General of Railways, were now available to any passenger willing to book them.
