Attack sparks protests; CM Sohail Afridi condemns incident, orders probe, seeks report on incident
A drone attack on the residence of former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa minister and current PTI MP Anwar Zeb Khan left one person injured.
The injured person, identified as Zair Muhammad, an MPA security personnel, was seriously injured in the attack which took place in Raghagan area of Khar Tehsil in Bajaur. Zeb was not at home at the time of the incident.
Security forces cordoned off the area and opened an investigation. The incident followed a protest rally that closed Khar Manda, Raghagan Road. MP Gul Dad Khan and other personalities addressed the protesters and condemned the drone attack on the PTI chief’s residence.
KP Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi also condemned the blast, terming the incident a cowardly act by anti-peace elements.
He ordered IGP Zulfiqar Hameed to conduct a thorough investigation and submit the report as soon as possible. He also asked the authorities to provide the best possible medical facilities to the injured person.
Maintaining law and order in the province is the top priority of the government and no miscreant will be allowed to escape the grip of the law, Afridi asserted.
