According to police and eyewitnesses, the attackers shot a man several times inside the park, killing him instantly. His companion was seriously injured during the attack.
The sudden gunfire sent families running for safety, while women and children screamed as they rushed out of the area. Witnesses said police arrived at the scene with an apparent delay, allowing the attackers to flee without resistance.

Two injured in separate shooting
In another incident in the Humak police perimeter, two people were seriously injured in a shootout believed to be linked to an old feud.
Police said a man identified as Sikandar allegedly opened fire on an individual named Qamar on GT Road. While Qamar, injured, tried to get up, the attacker opened fire indiscriminately, injuring a passerby.
Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect managed to escape and despite the presence of Safe City cameras in the area, police were unable to make any arrests.
