The two sides will review overall bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty arrived at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday and was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar.

At the press conference held after the meetings, Dar welcomed the visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Abdelatty, highlighting the “deep partnership and fraternal ties” between Pakistan and Egypt. Dr Abdelatty thanked Pakistan for its hospitality and highlighted the need to address common challenges. He condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Islamabad and Peshawar, expressing condolences to the government and people of Pakistan over the loss of life.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister described the bilateral relationship as “strong and historic” and based on mutual interest and respect. He said the two countries agreed to strengthen political dialogue, economic cooperation and defense collaboration, and pledged Egypt’s support in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

Dr Abdelatty also praised Pakistan’s consistent support on multilateral platforms and acknowledged its role in the Gaza ceasefire agreement. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to a UN-backed resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling a two-state solution “practical and lasting”, and expressed interest in Pakistan’s involvement in the reconstruction of Gaza.

The two sides reiterated their determination to increase bilateral trade, promote joint investments and strengthen collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals and livestock.
