The Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that a new rain system is expected to enter Pakistan on January 14.
The arrival of this system will bring precipitation to various regions and is expected to reduce the intensity of fog in affected areas.
According to the department, dry weather persists across Punjab, including Lahore, while thick fog has gripped the plains of the province today. Due to extremely low visibility, traffic may be difficult.
In some areas of the province, visibility was recorded up to 50 meters due to thick fog.
The minimum temperature recorded in Lahore today was 5°C, with an expected maximum temperature of 17°C.
On the other hand, the ongoing cold wave in Karachi and across Sindh is expected to persist, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasting persistent cold and dry conditions for the next two days.
In Karachi, temperatures fell between 8°C and 9°C during this period, with a maximum temperature range of 25°C to 27°C.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5°C, accompanied by stronger winds than usual.
The weather office also predicted light rain or drizzle in parts of Sindh, including Sanghar, Tharparkar and Umerkot districts, during the evening or night of the next day.
