A fire broke out in the Koh Sulaiman forest near Darazinda Tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan, damaging pine nuts, olive trees and other valuable trees.
According to reports, a fire broke out in the forests of Koh Sulaiman, Darazinda Tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan, due to unknown reasons.
The fire spread over more than five kilometers of the northern area of the forest, severely damaging pine nuts, olive and pine trees, as well as other valuable trees in natural forests. Local residents have strongly demanded that the KP Chief Minister take permanent steps to protect natural forests and immediately replace the existing staff, from forest secretary to officers and staff posted in the area, with new staff.
They argue that current staff, because they are local, are unable to take action against those who illegally cut down trees and start fires.
