The Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China have started the joint military exercise ‘Warrior-IX’, the ninth edition of the series of bilateral counter-terrorism exercises conducted annually between the two armored brothers, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.
The military’s media wing said the exercise began Dec. 1 and focused on counterterrorism operations, aiming to strengthen interoperability, sharpen professional skills and exchange best practices in modern warfare.
Pakistan and China enjoy a long-standing and proven defense cooperation, rooted in mutual trust and strategic partnership.
Exercise Warrior-IX demonstrates the strong military relations between the two countries and reaffirms their shared commitment to regional peace, stability and security, the ISPR statement said.
“Corps Commander Mangla, Major General Bian Xiaoming, Deputy Chief of Staff of the PLA Western Theater Command and other senior military officials from Pakistan and China attended the opening ceremony of the exercise held at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), Pabbi,” the statement added.
