Tennis legend Margaret Court has stood firm on her concerns about the removal of Christian values from schools and what it meant for children’s lives.
The Court expressed its dismay in a recent interview with the Telegraph in the United Kingdom about children and adolescents who question their gender and may have access to drugs that could seriously alter their health, such as puberty blockers, if one seeks to change their sex.

“Christian values have been removed from our schools. Some children don’t even know whether they are boys or girls anymore,” Court told the newspaper. “That’s where I get upset, because I look back on my life and I was a tomboy when I was young. I played football and cricket and I beat every boy that did it. But I always knew I had two brothers who were different from me.
“Now you have kids who say, ‘I feel like a boy.’ Give them hormone replacement therapy before puberty? They find themselves trapped in their body and cannot go back. We don’t even allow them to drive until they’re 17. So why would you do this to another human being? What are we doing to our young people? I’m crying about it.”

Court is considered one of the greatest women’s tennis players of all time. She holds the record for most Grand Slam singles titles with 24 – a record that only Serena Williams has been able to sniff, but never beat. She has 64 major titles in total, including 19 women’s doubles championships and 21 mixed doubles major titles.
The Court has been criticized for its views on same-sex marriage as well as other beliefs.
She told the Telegraph she had nothing against gay people, but defended her reasoning that gay people should not marry in church because the Bible says so.
“As minister, I simply defended certain values,” she said. “I have nothing against homosexuals. I’m just saying what the Bible says: ‘A man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’
