The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tourism police have not received their salaries for six months. As soon as the problem emerged, a notice calling for attention was submitted to the Provincial Assembly.
Notice is a document used in official bodies to bring to the attention of the Minister an urgent matter of public importance. It was jointly submitted in the assembly by PML-N members Shoubiya Shahid and Suresh Kumar, PPP members Ashbar Jadun, Garpal Singh and Bahari Lal, and Askar Parvez of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).
The KP Tourism Police are facing many financial, administrative and professional difficulties due to non-payment of their salaries, the statement said. Affected staff are also facing emotional and mental distress over the issue, saying they have also not been provided with a formal service structure, adding to uncertainty about their future.

The notice submitted said that the contract of the tourism police had expired on May 1, 2025, but former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur had announced in a board meeting that the employees in question would be made permanent. However, this announcement was never implemented.
Furthermore, the notice claims that a one-off temporary extension law was passed by the Provincial Assembly but never implemented, which is unfair to staff.
The legislators therefore requested permission to discuss the matter in order to grant the staff their legitimate rights, thereby addressing their anxiety and discontent.
