Princess Kate and William dazzle in official photo from German state banquet

Kate Middleton and Prince William made a dazzling appearance as they stepped out for the German State Banquet on Wednesday evening at Windsor Castle.

Kensington Palace shared a glamorous official portrait of the Prince and Princess of Wales as the couple were dressed to the nines for the big event.

Taken by photographer Alex Bramall at Frogmore House, a royal residence near Windsor Castle, the photo was accompanied by a short message.

“Looking forward to a special banquet this evening in Windsor,” reads the caption accompanied by German flag and Union Jack emojis.

Princess Kate looked breathtaking in her blue cape dress by Jenny Packham which she paired with Queen Victoria’s oriental tiara.

Kate wore the tiara for the first time and chose a pair of the late Queen Elizabeth’s earrings with the ensemble. For these honors she wore the Royal Family Order and the sash and star of the Royal Victorian Order.

Prince William, for his part, opted for a Windsor tailcoat with a white tie. He donned his badges and medals, including his Most Noble Order of the Garter with the Neck Order of Little George and Grand Master of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath.

The state banquet is hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at St George’s Hall in honor of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Büdenbender.

Prince William and Princess Kate had been tasked with receiving the German guests at the airport earlier in the day, upon their arrival. The royal couple also accompanied them in a carriage before presenting them to the monarch.
