Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is expected to visit Pakistan on December 8-9. This is Indonesian President Prabowo’s first visit to Pakistan. The visit is expected to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Indonesia.

The two sides will discuss a broad agenda focused on deepening ties between Pakistan and Indonesia and identifying new opportunities for cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, defence, health, information technology, climate, education and culture, while striving to strengthen collaboration on regional and global platforms.
“Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the visit,” the FO post said.
The message details the close relations shared between Pakistan and Indonesia, strengthened by “shared values and mutual interests”.

“President Prabowo’s visit will provide an important opportunity to deepen bilateral ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, thereby contributing to the continued growth and diversification of the partnership between the two countries.”
Indonesia’s last presidential visit to Pakistan was undertaken by President Joko Widodo in 2018.
In July this year, Indonesia’s Defense Minister, Lieutenant General (retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, visited Prime Minister Shehbaz at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he reiterated Indonesia’s desire to “further strengthen defense ties with Pakistan and explore possible areas of cooperation, particularly in defense production”, according to a statement from the government body PID.

Defense Minister Sjamsoeddin also met Field Marshal Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to discuss strengthening military ties, the military media wing reported.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indonesian Defense Minister, who is leading a delegation of senior representatives from various military and intelligence agencies, held wide-ranging talks with Pakistan’s top military authorities.
