He said the minister’s comment was an attempt to malign Pakistan and divert attention from India’s own regional conduct.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has categorically rejected Indian Foreign Minister’s recent remarks targeting the Pakistan Army, calling them “highly inflammatory, baseless and irresponsible”.
The response came a day after Indian Foreign Minister Dr S Jaishankar, addressing a public forum in New Delhi, blamed the Pakistani army, saying “a lot of our problems emanate from the Pakistani army”.
In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan views the Indian minister’s claims as an attempt to malign the country and divert attention from India’s own regional conduct.
“Pakistan categorically rejects and condemns the highly inflammatory, baseless and irresponsible comments made by the Indian Foreign Minister in his recent statement,” the press release said.
Andrabi maintained that Pakistan’s institutions, including its armed forces, have repeatedly demonstrated professionalism and commitment to national security. “Pakistan is a responsible state and all its institutions, including its armed forces, constitute a pillar of national security, dedicated to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country,” he said.
Referring to the May 2025 conflict, he added that it “clearly demonstrated the professionalism of the Pakistani armed forces as well as their determination to defend the Pakistani homeland and people against any Indian aggression in a dignified, effective and responsible manner.”

He stressed that “no propaganda can deny this truth.”
The spokesperson accused the Indian government of waging a targeted smear campaign to distract from what Pakistan describes as India’s destabilizing role. “Attempts by Indian leaders to defame Pakistani state institutions and its leadership are part of a propaganda campaign intended to divert attention from India’s destabilizing actions in the region and beyond as well as state terrorism in Pakistan,” the statement said.
He warned that such “inflammatory rhetoric only illustrates the extent of India’s contempt for friendship, peace and stability in our region.”
The statement also criticizes India’s domestic political climate, urging New Delhi to tackle what Pakistan sees as dangerous ideological trends. “Instead of making misleading remarks about Pakistan’s armed forces, India must investigate the fascist and revisionist Hindutva ideology that has unleashed a reign of mob justice, lynchings, arbitrary detentions and demolition of properties and places of worship,” Andrabi said, adding that the Indian state and its leaders “have become hostages of this terror in the name of religion.”
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the spokesperson said the country remained firm in defending its sovereignty. “Pakistan believes in coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy. However, it remains united and determined in its intent and ability to safeguard its interests and sovereignty.”
