Prince Harry is slowly turning the public towards him in the UK

Prince Harry has more fans in Britain than the headlines suggest.

A new YouGov poll of 8,022 adults conducted on December 8 shows that 56% of Britons believe the Duke of Sussex should have some level of police protection when he sets foot in the United Kingdom again.

A timely verdict as the government launches a new review of its security provisions.

However, Brits aren’t exactly lining up to foot the bill for Harry’s security entourage.

According to the poll, only 17% think he should have state-funded police protection.

39% of respondents, more pragmatic, declare that they can benefit from protection provided they pay for it themselves.

Meanwhile, 28% take a tougher stance, arguing that he should not be entitled to any police protection.

And then there are the remaining 16%, who politely shrugged their shoulders and opted for “don’t know”, perhaps wisely avoiding yet another royal debate.

The Home Office has ordered a new threat assessment after the Duke formally requested a reassessment of the risks he faces during his visits to Britain.

Harry wrote to Interior Minister Shabana Mahmood in October, asking officials to review security threats he might encounter during his travels.
