A person of interest in the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was in custody Monday, police said.
The person of interest, who has not been identified, was arrested at an apartment complex in Buffalo, New York, the New York Post reported. The New York Police Department has not said what role, if any, the person may have played in the shooting.

Charges have not yet been filed. New York police released images of a suspect they believed linked to the shooting hours after Boyd was taken to the hospital.
Boyd was shot and killed in the early morning hours of November 16 outside a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. The shooter fled. It is unclear what circumstances led to the shooting.

The NFL player was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He spent days in the hospital before apparently being discharged and returning to treat more complex health issues related to the injury.
Boyd joined the Jets in the offseason after spending time with the Houston Texans. He has been on injured reserve since August after suffering an injury in training camp. He spent his first four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

He surprised his Jets teammates last week while attending a special teams meeting. He interrupted the meeting and then spoke to the players and coaches.
