Dar calls for energy collaboration in South Asia

ISLAMABAD:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar on Friday highlighted that regional sharing of innovation and expertise in renewable energy could help South Asia collectively reduce its dependence away from fossil fuels and transition to a greener, more sustainable future.

He was virtually addressing the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) 2025 conference titled “South Asia Economic Outlook: Challenges and Opportunities”.

“In Pakistan, the energy crisis has long been a challenge, but it is also an area of ​​immense opportunity. The country has one of the largest untapped renewable energy potentials in the world.”
