Rajab Butt on UK visa issue

“If a visa is canceled in the UK, a ten-year ban is usually imposed, but I am not asking for such a ban”

Pakistani YouTuber Raja Butt has denied reports he was deported from the UK, insisting he returned home by choice and not under deportation orders. “A person does not return to business class after being deported,” he said Wednesday, dismissing speculation circulating online.

Butt explained that although he had not been deported, his British visa had been cancelled. “My visa has been canceled and an application has been submitted to the Home Office stating that there are pending proceedings against me,” he said.

He added that he was on a 10-year visa, which his lawyer has now challenged through a review.

He added: “My name is not on the exit control list. I will remain in Pakistan for as long as the case is pending. If a visa is canceled in the UK, a ten-year ban is usually imposed, but I am not seeking such a ban. I may have to travel for visits, but I will continue to reside in Pakistan.”

Butt was reportedly deported from England on a morning flight after British authorities canceled his visa, according to reports Tuesday evening. The British government revoked his visa after the Home Office published a written decision informing him of the cancellation.

According to the Home Office, Butt did not disclose the proceedings against him in Pakistan at the time of his visa application. As soon as the authorities became aware of this, they arrested him, canceled his visa and ordered his deportation. He said he intended to challenge the Home Office’s decision and would appeal to London.
