- Users noticed an error in Prime Video’s AI-generated recaps after they got a fact wrong. To fall first season
- Since the errors were reported, Amazon has suspended AI recaps of its TV shows, but has not said when or if they will return.
- Prime Video is also gearing up for the premiere of Fallout’s second season, arriving on December 17.
Prime Video’s new AI-powered TV show recaps don’t quite live up to expectations, and users have noticed incorrect details during the recap To fall first season – including the year in which it took place.
This could not come at a more difficult time for the platform, which is currently preparing for the arrival of To fall season two on December 17.
As spotted by GamesRadar, the first season recap features an AI voiceover superimposed over a series of video highlights from the series, but incorrectly states that The Ghoul’s (Walter Goggins) flashback scenes take place in the 1950s – when they actually take place in 2077.
TV Show Recap Video Ai? from r/Fallout
It doesn’t stop there, however, as the AI recap also failed to give an accurate summary of the season finale, portraying The Ghoul’s offer to Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) as a “join or die” situation, when it couldn’t be further from the truth. This was also picked up by GamesRadar, who reiterated that the first season finale instead presented a chance for both characters to find the man “driving” in New Vegas, where the two will venture into To fall season two.
Amazon began testing AI-powered recaps last month and is one of the latest additions to Prime Video’s ecosystem. But following the mistakes he made with his To fall To recap, the company has apparently removed them from a handful of its popular shows, including The rigging, Jack Ryan by Tom Clancy, DownloadAnd Bosch, The edge pays off.
When Amazon first revealed that it was introducing AI-powered recaps for its TV shows, the company said the goal was “to identify a show’s most important plot points, combining them with synchronized voice narration, snippets of dialogue, and music to create a visual summary that prepares viewers for the new season.”
Although Prime Video’s AI-generated recaps have proven capable of compiling the highlights of a TV show and overlaying them with music and voiceover, they still lack the main ingredient: factual accuracy. Want to see how bad it is for yourself? You can find the recap of the first season in the Extras tab of the To fall season two list.
