François Arnaud spoke out after Jordan Firstman was criticized for his manner Passionate rivalry showed intimate moments between the main characters.
First man, known for I love Los Angeles, said in a recent interview that the series did not depict romantic relationships realistically.
Arnaud, who plays hockey player Scott Hunter, posted on Instagram, asking if there was only one way to show true intimacy on television.
The 40-year-old Canadian actor added that closeted hockey players might have different experiences than other characters, in response to Firstman’s comments.
Co-star Hudson Williams, who plays one of the main protagonists, shared Arnaud’s post on his Instagram Story.
Williams also praised Firstman and his cast, saying, “But definitely go watch I Love LA! Jordan and the cast are awesome.”
The series, based on the Game Changers books, follows the story of two hockey players in a low-key romance over several years.
Despite all the criticism and controversy, the series became an international hit and received a second season on Crave and HBO Max.
Bell Media’s Justin Stockman said there were strong characters in the series and said the story was “thrilling”.
He also shared his own opinion, adding that it was impressive that the series was reaching an international audience.
For the uninformed, new episodes of Passionate rivalry aired Fridays on Crave and HBO Max, while I Love LA aired Sundays on HBO.
