Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) General Syed Asim Munir on Saturday said that “the Pakistan Army remains fully focused on internal and external challenges, including hostile hybrid campaigns, extremist ideologies and divisive elements seeking to undermine national stability.”
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the CDF made the remarks during a visit to Gujranwala and Sialkot garrisons, where he was “briefed about the operational readiness of training and key initiatives aimed at strengthening combat readiness”.
The marshal attended a field training exercise and an advanced simulator training facility, the statement said, adding that he praised the training’s high professional standards and overall readiness.
Highlighting the importance of technological adaptability, he noted that modern warfare requires agility, precision, situational awareness and rapid decision-making, the ISPR document said.
During their interactions with the officers and soldiers, the COAS and CDF commended their high morale and unwavering commitment to national security, while emphasizing the importance of rigorous and mission-oriented training.
Earlier on arrival at Gujranwala, the COAS and CDF were received by Corps Commander Gujranwala.
National Games
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday officially declared the conclusion of the 35th National Games 2025 and as the chief guest, along with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, conveyed the flag of the Pakistan Olympic Committee to the Punjab Olympic Association to host the upcoming 36th National Games.
Earlier, addressing the closing ceremony, the PPP Chairman thanked Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for gracing the occasion with his presence, describing his leadership and service as a symbol of strength, professionalism and national unity.
