Queen Camilla has shown her full support for King Charles while remaining resolute on an important health decision, but behind the scenes it’s a different story.
The monarch addressed the nation on Friday to boost morale and deliver the “good news” that the frequency of his treatment can be reduced. He thanked his medical team, whom he called the “community of care,” who helped him on his cancer journey.
Buckingham Palace had explained how the monarch had been pleased with the positive reception of the news. Despite this, a report from Sunday time claims Camilla wanted the diagnosis to remain private so Charles could be treated “quietly”.
The update on Charles’ cancer treatment comes nearly two years after his diagnosis. The Palace officially made this announcement in February 2024, which left the world in shock.
However, time proved to have changed Camilla’s mind on the matter. The source cited by the outlet suggests that “both now unequivocally believe that being so open has been extremely positive.”
This isn’t the first time Camilla’s disavowal of her husband has been exposed. Reports had indicated that the Queen Consort constantly worried about her husband’s fate as he continued to take on royal duties and commitments.
The king had refused to slow Don down and Camilla remarked that his recovery would be quicker if he “behaved well” referring to the monarch’s workload.
