13 terrorists killed in two separate IBOs in KP: ISPR

PM Shehbaz, President Zardari congratulate forces for successfully carrying out counter-terrorism operations against terrorists

Thirteen terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij were killed in two separate intelligence-driven operations carried out by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, army media said on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence operation was carried out in Mohmand district following reports of the presence of Khawarij in the area. During the operation, the troops actually attacked a terrorist hideout and, after an intense exchange of fire, killed seven terrorists.

In a separate intelligence operation carried out in Bannu district, security forces managed to neutralize six more Khawarij, the ISPR said. The two operations were carried out on December 12 and 13.

Army media said disinfection operations were underway to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Khawarij present in the region.

He added that security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, remain engaged in relentless anti-terrorism campaign as part of the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Supreme Federal Committee under the National Action Plan.

The ISPR reiterated that counter-terrorism operations would continue in full swing until the complete elimination of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for successfully carrying out two counter-terrorism operations against Fitna al Khawarij terrorists in Mohmand and Bannu districts.

In a statement issued by the press service of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister congratulated the security forces for eliminating 13 terrorists during different operations. He praised their professionalism, their courage and their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said that under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, security forces are achieving major successes in the ongoing war against terrorism. He reaffirmed the government’s determination to pursue decisive action against terrorist elements.

The Prime Minister further said that the entire nation stood with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism. He emphasized that the people of Pakistan are united and fully determined to eradicate terrorism in all its forms from the country.

Meanwhile, in a statement, President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for eliminating terrorists operating under Indian patronage in KP. He also congratulated security forces and police of Balochistan for the successful operation against terrorists in Balochistan.

“Safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty is our top priority,” the president said. “Any conspiracy of the enemy will be foiled,” he added.
