LAHORE:

President Asif Zardari is expected to leave for Islamabad on Monday (today) after his flight scheduled for Sunday was canceled due to smog, according to party sources.
He had arrived in Lahore to congratulate a party leader on his son’s upcoming marriage later this month. During his stay, he met with party leaders, but none of these meetings concerned specific party affairs.
Currently, there is a lot of wrangling going on within the Punjab central branch, which is still awaiting leadership’s approval for the party’s reorganization.
President Bilawal Bhutto, who stayed in Punjab for about five days, was also expected to approve this reorganization; however, there is total silence on the issue.
A major disagreement emerged over the proposed office-bearer structure in Lahore, where Central Punjab leaders and the Central Information Secretary wanted their own nominees to be given portfolios of their choice.
However, according to party sources, the proposed chairman of Lahore, Faisal Mir, categorically refused to accept their recommendations. One particular post that has caused friction between Mir and the party’s information secretary is that of the information secretary of Lahore. Nadeem Afzal Chan wants Sania Kamran to be nominated, while Mir insists on his own candidate.
