LAHORE:

Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said any attempt to raise voice against the Pakistan Army would be met with strong resistance.
He expressed these views while speaking at a press conference in Lahore on Sunday.
Ashrafi said that if ever the need arises in the field of jihad, the ulemas, madrasas, mehrabs and mimbers (chairs) are fully ready to defend the homeland and its security and stability.
He welcomed the statement issued by the ulama of Afghanistan and said it was now the responsibility of the Afghan government to implement it in letter and spirit.
