Mia Goth opened up about her nerves when first meeting Christopher Nolan.
THE Frankenstein the actress is set to star in a highly anticipated upcoming film The Odysseywhich follows the 10-year journey of Ithaca’s King Odysseus after the Trojan War.
In a recent podcast episode of Happy Sad ConfusedTHE Pearl The star admitted that during her audition for the Oscar-winning director’s film, she felt sick with anxiety.
“I found out Chris wanted to meet me. I remember driving to Universal and being so nervous I wanted to throw up,” Goth recalled.
THE MaXXXine The actress added: “I tried to tell myself what a privilege it is to feel like that, you know, you’re so nervous, you want to be sick. And then I went there and I did the audition and then I got the job.”
Describing the secrecy of the film at that time, Goth said she was given a “dummy” script for the audition and was not allowed to know the character she was playing.
“Then I found out I had to accept the job before I could even read the script and find out what the role was. So it was a new process,” she explained. “So I said, ‘Yeah, I’m in.’ And then they gave me the script.
Goth will play the role of the servant Melantho, who is disloyal to Odysseus’ house and is ultimately punished for her betrayal.
Apart from Goth, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson and many others are also included in the film.
The Odyssey is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2026.
