Finally, Hollow Knight: Song of Silk fans have something else to look forward to, as Team Cherry teases the game’s first major expansion.
Titled “Sea of Sorrow,” the accompanying trailer found on the Team Cherry Holiday 2025 blog reveals no gameplay. However, its arrival is scheduled for 2026, will be completely free and will add completely new “zones, bosses, tools and more! »

The Cherry team also took this time to announce that Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is also in development. This version of the game will essentially upgrade it with Song of silk, added support for higher frame rates and resolutions, as well as “many additional graphic effects”.

Finally, the Cherry team also confirmed that Song of Silk has sold over 7 million copies in just three and a half months since its launch. “This is a truly staggering number of players,” the message read, “more than we could have expected (enough to collapse all the storefronts!).”
