President Zardari will visit Iraq from December 20 to 24 at the invitation of his counterpart

President Asif Ali Zardari will undertake an official visit to the Republic of Iraq from December 20 to 24 at the invitation of the Iraqi president, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

The visit highlights the long-standing fraternal relations between Pakistan and Iraq, rooted in shared bonds of faith, culture and mutual respect, said a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During his visit, the President will hold high-level meetings with Iraqi leaders to review overall bilateral relations and explore ways to further strengthen cooperation in key areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, energy, reconstruction, labor, technology, education and people-to-people exchanges.

Discussions will also focus on regional and international developments, as well as cooperation in multilateral forums.
