Donald Glover recently praised his 8-year-old son’s singing talents while recalling the moment he realized Legend was a “performer” at heart.
During a conversation with the the Wall Street Journal, the 40-year-old actor shared his thoughts on bringing his children into the music industry.
Speaking about the moment during Legend’s soccer game when he discovered his son was born to be in the spotlight, Donald said: “In the middle of his action on the field, he grabbed his chest and fell to the ground, pretending to die.”
“I remember thinking, ‘Oh, he’s an artist.’ He will not be Messi, he is an artist at a certain level, he values experience,” he continued.
Despite this, the Mr. and Mrs. Smith The actor doesn’t want his children to join the music industry.
“In a perfect world, I wouldn’t have my kids in the business,” Donald shared. “I don’t like the industry, it does something to people…. So it was tough, but he’s really good and I was super proud of him.”
“I wanted to share this joy with people, which is scary, because usually when a large group of people see something beautiful, they want to destroy it,” he added.
