Kate Winslet admits losing sleep over constant media attention

Kate Winslet made a surprising statement about the fame she received after starring in James Cameron’s film Titanic.

The 50-year-old became popular alongside Leonardo DiCaprio for playing Rose and Jack in the 1997 classic.

The fame, however, proved to be quite scary as Kate admitted that she was constantly followed by paparazzi.

Even his phone was tapped and people were looking through his trash cans for “what diet I was following or not.”

She said in an interview: “It was horrible. There were people tapping my phone. They were everywhere. And I was all alone. I was terrified of going to sleep.”

During a conversation about BBC Radios 4 Island Discs, The holidays the actress revealed that after Titanicshe often saw herself on the covers of magazines and newspapers accompanied by what she called “horrible, abusive names.”

Kate explained that she coped with all the negative and horrible media attention with “a nice meal, a shared conversation, a nice cup of coffee, some Radiohead and a good poop.”

On the work front, Winslet just made her directorial debut with a film Goodbye Junewritten by his son Joe Anders.
