Security forces kill nine terrorists in two separate operations in KP (ISPR)

Terrorists have been involved in numerous attacks against security forces and targeted killings of innocent civilians.

Security forces killed nine terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored Fitna al Khawarij group in two separate encounters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-led operation was carried out by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan district on December 19 following reports of the presence of Khawarij.

“During the operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, our troops actually engaged the Khawarij site, and after an intense exchange of fire, four Khawarij were neutralized,” the statement said.

The ISPR further said that another intelligence-based operation was carried out in Bannu district, where five more Khawarij were killed in an ensuing exchange of fire.

“Arms and ammunition were recovered from Indian-sponsored Khawarij, who had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies and targeted killings of innocent civilians,” the statement added.

The ISPR also said that sanitization operations are underway to eliminate all Indian-sponsored Khawarij in the region, as part of an unrelenting anti-terrorism campaign under the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ vision, approved by the Supreme Federal Committee on National Action Plan.

“Pakistan’s security and law enforcement agencies will continue in full force to eradicate the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.
