Sarah Ferguson appears to be recovering from the humiliation of being completely cut off from the royal family and is now trying to fight her way back to regain some sympathy.
The former Duchess of York was also ousted after King Charles stripped all royal honors and titles from her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. They both turned out to have questionable links to pedophile financier Jeffery Epstein, forcing the monarch to take tough action after public backlash.
Previously, Sarah and Andrew had a tradition of sending Christmas cards to family and friends. This year, in the run-up to Christmas, Fergie alone signed the holiday cards to be sent to the royal family, according to Daily Mail author Barbara Davies.
The mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie had slowly gained the trust and favor of the royal family and even attended the Sandringham march in 2023. However, this all fell apart when controversies aligned against the Yorks.
They are also expected to leave the Royal Lodge in the first half of 2026, which would officially (and hopefully for the royals) mark the end of the chapter.
“As the long-divorced couple finally prepare to go their separate ways, Sarah, 66, has reportedly signed her cards alone,” a source revealed.
They added that the cards addressed to members of the royal family feature “personalized, gushing apologies” written for causing problems because of her past poor decisions.
In what is being described as a “desperate” attempt, Fergie is appealing to the royal family to somehow prove some of the contrition she feels. The source shared that she sadly wrote in the cards: “I hope we see each other again.”
It is suggested that Sarah will be by Andrew’s side for Christmas this year, as they are also banned from any private royal family celebrations. Meanwhile, their eldest daughter Béatrice goes abroad with her family and friends.
Princess Eugenie hasn’t made a decision yet, but it’s likely she would follow her sister’s strategy to avoid drama.
