Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who stole the show at Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas carol concert, will join King Charles and the rest of the royal family for a grand gathering at Sandringham.
As Prince William and Princess Catherine’s children look forward to reuniting with their other cousins, they will be the young royals the public will be waiting to see when they step out on Christmas Day.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, caring and protective parents of their three children, had set a strict rule to protect them from certain royal traditions, which could probably put them in distress, a royal chief has pointed out.
There are very specific protocols in place for members of the royal family, senior and inactive, young and old, which must be followed to the letter. Even with their young age, a royal is expected to be disciplined in royal staircase etiquette, Darren McGrady revealed to Harper’s Bazaar previously.
Darren worked for the late Queen Elizabeth II and the late Princess Diana. He explained that the children, in order to learn “polite conversation”, had to be separated from William and Kate at mealtimes.
“Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis had to learn very early on what they could and could not do,” he said. And until they were old enough to behave properly, they were not allowed to sit with all the elders at the huge dining table set for the family.
For William and Kate, the move was about protecting their children from the pressure to avoid making mistakes. It seems that the children have shown with their composure that they might just be ready for the big step.
