Petitioner failed to verify allegations and registration of case not justified, police told court
The police submitted a report to the sessions court objecting to registration of a case against the writer, producer and actors of the Indian film. Dhurandharaccused of showing Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) rally and images of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto without permission
The court was hearing an application to register an FIR against the makers of the film for allegedly depicting a PPP rally and displaying images of the former party president in the film.
During the hearing, the SHO of Darakhshan Police Station submitted his report, stating that attempts were made to contact the complainant on the telephone number provided, but no contact could be made. The applicant also did not appear before the police to verify his allegations.

The report states that all the named accused are Indian nationals and neither their residence nor their business interests are located in Pakistan. He further said that all scenes in the film were shot outside Pakistan and no evidence was found to suggest that any part of the filming took place in the country. Therefore, according to the law, registration of a case was not justified.
The application was filed by Aamir Khoso, a PPP worker, who claimed that the film showed a party rally and images of the former PPP president without permission. He further alleged that Karachi, particularly Lyari, was depicted as a hub of terrorism in the film, which could harm the image of Pakistan as well as the reputation of the PPP.
