The NCCIA alone received 22,500 complaints in 2025

The NCCIA director general has informed a parliamentary panel that the agency faces serious shortages of qualified personnel and financial resources.

He revealed that in 2025 alone, the NCCIA received 22,500 complaints, registered 620 cases and secured just 26 convictions, with an average officer handling 565 complaints.

Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) told the Committee that over 1.5 million URLs have been blocked in the current year, including thousands related to defamation, impersonation and immoral content.
