- Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are about to launch
- These headphones have been approved by the FCC
- We could see them appear alongside the Galaxy S26
We’ve heard a lot about the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro in recent months, and now it looks like the launch of these wireless earbuds is imminent, according to new information published online.
As spotted by SamMobile, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro have been approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States – an essential regulatory step for any gadget intended to go on sale in the United States.
There’s no mention in this report of the standard Galaxy Buds 4, but we’ll almost certainly see both pairs of wireless earbuds launch together, and once FCC certification is obtained, it usually doesn’t take long for a product to appear.
The filing doesn’t tell us much about the earbuds, but previous leaks have revealed a flatter, more compact design this time around. It looks like head gestures to answer calls might also be supported, as we’ve already seen on Apple AirPods.
Now late
Another earlier leak pointed to parts that were apparently designed for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, although the released listing didn’t give us any solid hints about what features and audio upgrades the earbuds might bring with them.
Given that the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and Samsung Buds 3 launched in July 2024 – alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, you may remember – it could be argued that the fourth generation versions are now overdue.
We’re most likely looking at a launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, and these phones are rumored to appear in February. We might even see phones and headphones combined in various pre-order deals, when the time comes.
Given that references to these earbuds have already started to appear in Samsung’s One UI 8.5 software, which is currently in beta testing, it shouldn’t be long before we have some new contenders for our best wireless earbuds list.
