Flights suspended in 2015
Pakistan International Airlines suspended its operations in Bangladesh, halting five weekly flights on February 25, 2015. The move followed a raid by Bangladeshi authorities on the airline’s station manager’s residence in Dhaka.
The route suffered another setback in 2018, when Pakistan International Airlines again suspended its flights to Bangladesh after one of its officials was allegedly mistreated by security personnel in Dhaka.
It wasn’t always a story of suspensions. In 2011, Pakistan’s national carrier doubled its flights to Dhaka – a move that reportedly raised concerns among Bangladesh’s national airline, Biman.
