Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s final departure takes a U-turn

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have quelled any further comments regarding their staff’s latest departure by releasing a statement clarifying the update.

It has been revealed that a key Sussex aide, who was part of the team before running the couple’s Archewell Foundation (renamed Archewell Philanthropies), James Holt, had resigned from his position.

Even if his laudatory statement towards his former employers suggests that there were no tensions or disagreements surrounding his departure, it will not fail to raise eyebrows in view of the latest developments.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes released a similarly appreciative but brief statement to Mark James’s and noted that he had not severed any ties with them.

“James has provided us with remarkable support for almost 10 years,” they said. “His enthusiasm and talent in overseeing our philanthropic efforts has been extraordinary.”

They continued: “As James brings his young family back to the UK, we are proud that he will continue to guide various humanitarian trips for us overseas through Archewell Philanthropies.”

Meanwhile, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams also explained that this is not exactly a setback for the couple but could indicate different plans.

“The details available indicate that he is not severing ties with them but is returning to London,” Fitzwilliams said. GB Newsreiterating that Archewell Philanthropies is undergoing restructuring and job cuts.

“This is a very small charity; their ambitions would not be realized if they expected more donations,” he said. He further added that this could enable UK charitable affairs to be managed more effectively as the Sussexes continue their work from Montecito.
