Buffalo Bills All-Pro player Stefon Diggs has been charged with a felony after his former personal boss accused him of assault during a dispute over unpaid wages.
The four-time Pro Bowl receiver is no stranger to controversy, having previously dealt with ongoing paternity drama and past legal issues.
The allegations, which are now part of an ongoing criminal case, stem from an alleged confrontation at Digg’s Massachusetts home in early December.
What does the chief claim Stefon Diggs did?
According to police reports, the alleged argument occurred on December 2, 2025, in Dedham, Massachusetts, when Diggs allegedly entered the woman’s bedroom, punched her in the face and choked her, making it difficult for her to breathe before letting go.
The woman then decided to press charges after initially being reluctant due to her star power.
The allegations led to criminal charges for strangulation or suffocation, as well as misdemeanor assault and battery.
These charges are now part of active criminal proceedings and Diggs could face trial as early as 2026.
Who is the woman who claims Diggs assaulted her?
As noted in police reports detailing the case, the woman alleges Stefon Diggs was Diggs’ private chef and was employed around July 2025 to cook for him throughout the NFL season.
She reportedly told police that the incident occurred because of unpaid salaries that were at least a month overdue.
Per the agreement, she was supposed to be paid weekly, but was ultimately paid monthly.
After the alleged incident, she left Diggs’ premises and stayed with a friend. Then, on December 9, she returned to her residence to collect her belongings.
After the alleged incident, she left Diggs’ home and stayed with a friend. Then, on December 9, she returned to her residence to collect her belongings. At the time, the heated exchange escalated into what she describes as an assault on the part of Stefon Diggs.
She in turn contacted the Dedham Police Department on December 16 to report what had happened and later decided to file a complaint.
But so far, police reports highlight her account of the alleged assault and her employment contract, but her name has not been publicly released.
On the other hand, Diggs has denied all allegations, with his lawyer calling them unsubstantiated and linking them to a financial dispute rather than a violent assault.
