ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a warm and cordial telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the long-standing fraternal ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He also expressed gratitude for the Crown Prince’s affection, sincerity and continued support towards Pakistan, noting that the recent engagements had significantly elevated bilateral relations to new heights.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to maintain unity and harmony within the Muslim Ummah in the face of various challenges. He stressed that maintaining regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy remained essential.
Crown Prince Mohammed thanked the Prime Minister for his call and reiterated the Kingdom’s keenness to expand cooperation with Pakistan in all areas of mutual interest. He expressed his intention to undertake an official visit to Pakistan in 2026.
In a related meeting, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy met Prime Minister Shehbaz at the Prime Minister’s House and discussed recent regional and global developments and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation.
The ambassador conveyed warm greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to fostering closer ties with Pakistan. Shehbaz expressed satisfaction with the excellent state of bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed his determination to further deepen the historical and fraternal ties between the two countries. He also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s constant support to Pakistan in times of need and its constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
