Sources at the Karachi airport said the publication followed the findings of an internal investigation against the officer. They added that the investigator recommended that Mehdi not be assigned to any immigration checkpoints in the future.
According to the results of the investigation, the FIA assigned Mehdi to the deputy director’s office and assigned him to an administrative assignment, which officials said was consistent with the investigation’s recommendations.
