ISLAMABAD:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said he was determined to follow PTI founder Imran Khan’s instructions “to the letter” and would continue to prepare for a street movement against the government.

In a post on microblogging site

“My leader has charged me with managing the administrative affairs of my province while preparing a street movement. God willing, I will follow these instructions to the letter,” he said.

Afridi, who is scheduled to visit Karachi next week, noted that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had invited him for a meeting “in line with democratic values and respect for power”.

“I thanked him [Shah] and said that during the visit I would meet the people of my province and if they faced any difficulties or problems there, I would definitely meet him to seek a solution,” he added.

He said that on Sunday, January 11, at 4 p.m., he would pay obeisance at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. After spending three days in Lahore, CM Sohail Afridi is now set to visit Sindh as the PTI steps up preparations for its protest scheduled for February 8.

The visits are being carried out on the instructions of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan, who has tasked the young KP chief minister to mobilize the public ahead of a major show of power marking the second anniversary of next month’s parliamentary elections.

Afridi’s visit to the country’s political powerhouse Lahore generated controversy, with the KP chief minister formally filing a complaint with his Punjab counterpart over what he called inappropriate treatment during the tour.
