- Two Hatsune Miku Fortnite skins leaked before their official reveal
- They would be available tomorrow
- One is part of the game’s Festival Pass, while the other is found in the item shop.
Virtual pop star and Vocaloid synthesizer software icon Hatsune Miku has reportedly arrived Fortnite tomorrow in the form of two new skins. Both leaked early via social media – but they seem a bit off to me.
Images purportedly showing the next Hatsune Miku x Fortnite This collaboration made the rounds on social networks this morning. They suggest that two skins of the character will be added to the game tomorrow: Classic Miku and Neko Miku.
Classic Miku will apparently be available through the Item Shop and appears to depict Miku in her classic baby blue ensemble. In addition to being able to purchase the skin on its own, leaks indicate that it will come bundled with a cute Miku-themed backpack, Back Bling, and a free course.
The Neko Miku skin will then be part of the Fortnite Party Music Pass, a premium battle pass centered around the new spinoff rhythm game mode. If you want to get your hands on this one, leaks indicate that the season will end on April 8.
On top of all that, it looks like at least three new instruments and a Jam Track for the song Love Shot magic cure! will also be added.
What did they do to him?
While I’m always up for a Hatsune Miku rep, I can’t pretend that I’m not a little disappointed with how these skins look so far. As you would expect, they use cel-shaded Fortnite Anime art style that we’ve seen used for many other skins before, but something about them seems a little wrong.
She has a strange, almost empty look in her eyes and her eyes seem not only too small, but also a little too far apart. Overall, while they certainly don’t seem like the worst skins ever, I think they could easily be made a little cuter with a few subtle tweaks.
I think a design is more closely based on its appearance in the game. Hatsune Miku: DIVA Mega Mix Projectwhich has a similar cel-shaded style, would have been a much better choice and a more accurate representation of his overall appearance.
I also really hope that Love Shot magic cure! isn’t the only Jam Track on the charts. There are countless other iconic Miku songs, like The world is mine Or Romeo and Cinderellawhich I would much rather play.
That said, I can’t pretend that I still won’t instantly buy this skin pack and the Festival Pass if they do indeed drop as per current leaks. Fingers crossed everything looks better in the game than in these leaked photos.
