Installation of equipment to ensure rapid baggage screening and improve airport security

The authorities have decided to install modern scanners at Karachi airport and other busy airports in the country.
According to sources, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) and Airport Security Force (ASF) have carried out a comprehensive survey for the installation of new scanners at major airports including Karachi.
The installation of advanced scanning equipment will help ensure timely screening of passengers’ baggage and significantly improve airport security. The CAA, PAA and ASF have jointly accelerated work on the project.
Under the supervision of the CAA, the PAA and ASF will achieve the target of installing the new scanners, which will improve passenger facilitation and ensure timely screening of baggage.
The project, worth billions of rupees, involves installing state-of-the-art scanners at airports in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and other cities.
These modern systems are expected to play a key role in preventing all forms of smuggling at airports while further strengthening overall security measures. Sources added that the new scanners will be installed in accordance with international civil aviation standards.
