Both sides emphasize strengthening institutional ties, training collaboration and defense industrial cooperation

Indonesian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin (retd) called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Force Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to discuss strengthening defense ties, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest, evolving regional and global security dynamics and opportunities to strengthen bilateral security cooperation. Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional ties, training collaboration and defense industrial cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia.
According to the statement, the visiting dignitary praised the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He also expressed Indonesia’s desire to expand its defense ties with Pakistan in multiple areas.
The ISPR added that Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering a strong and enduring defense relationship with Indonesia, based on shared values, mutual respect and convergence of strategic interests.
