Palace takes bold stand for Prince Harry amid security struggle

Prince Harry’s ties to the palace have not been easy for many years and appear to have worsened over time, particularly during his security battle.

The Duke of Sussex is awaiting a verdict on his British taxpayer-funded protection after sending a letter to the UK Home Secretary for a risk assessment review in October. Since the beginning of the month, sources have suggested that the situation is tilted in Harry’s favor, although the official verdict has not been announced.

Although Harry has called his past defeat to regain his security an “establishment thing”, Buckingham Palace refutes claims that it will intervene in the decision that the British Home Office makes.

In a Mail Sunday report, it was claimed that Harry had won his safety and that announcing the decision would only be a formality unless the Palace intervened. A royal aide criticized it, calling it “both unfair and inaccurate,” via GB News.

“The palace has no such powers within Ravec. Although they sit on the committee, their role is not to advise on threat analysis or appropriate mitigation measures,” they said.

“It is for the real intelligence and security experts to give their views, as of course they do whenever the Duke’s visits to the UK are considered under the existing Ravec process.”

Meanwhile, a source close to the matter has doubled down on his claims.

“I have no idea what the RMB (risk management board) recommendation will be to Ravec (the royal and VIP executive committee), but what I know for sure is that neither will anyone else, as they are still undertaking the review.”

The news comes as Prince Harry’s ties with King Charles have improved with reports suggesting a major olive branch is on the horizon. Prince Harry reportedly invited King Charles to not only attend the Invictus Games, but also to open the ceremony alongside him.
