Pooh Shiesty, real name Lontrell Donell Williams Jr, surprised his fans with rumors that he was arrested in Dallas, Texas, three months after being released from federal prison.
According to Hot 97Speculation about his custody began circulating on the Internet after his close associate DJ Akademiks confirmed that his name was in the Federal Bureau of Prisons records with a release date listed as April 11, 2026.
Akademicks wrote in his tweet about
Questioning the discrepancy between public records and the rapper’s visible activity, adding: “What’s not sure is whether he was listed as being in custody when we saw him clearly free (filming music videos, etc.). We will confirm more details shortly.”
He continued: “It could be a hold resulting from possible violations, but he would not be housed in a halfway house. Normally it would be a federal detention center until the judge sees him.”
However, Akademiks later confirmed that Shiesty’s label attempted to debunk the entire situation.
“Apparently his April appointment was in existence since his ‘release’ and he is under home confinement until April as he has been the entire time since his release,” he wrote. “Rumours of his incarceration started via a stream when fans speculated that a conversation on the stream from one of his closest friends (Bendadon) was about his arrest.”
Shiesty was serving a federal sentence for a gun conspiracy charge related to a 2020 crime in Florida.
Just weeks after its release, Pooh Shiesty has released new music, including a track titled FDOwhich represents First day of releasewho celebrated his return.
