Melissa Gilbert, who has remained silent on all the allegations and assertions, decides to speak.
Gilbert, owner of a clothing brand, Modern Prairie, released a statement as Timothy Busfield surrendered to police on January 13.
A few hours later, the brand understood the seriousness of the problem and resolved it via Instagram.
“Modern Prairie is aware of recent media reports regarding serious allegations involving a family member of our brand muse, Melissa Gilbert. These allegations do not involve Modern Prairie, our operations, or our community,” the statement said.
“Modern Prairie unequivocally condemns abuse in all its forms and remains committed to the values of safety, integrity and respect. »
Modern Prairie reiterated, “These questions are personal and do not directly involve Melissa or the brand,” adding that the company “respects the family’s privacy as they navigate a difficult and personal situation.”
“Our goal remains to support our community and continue our work with care, responsibility and intention,” the statement concluded.
The brand’s statement follows Gilbert’s first comment on the full storyline and her husband’s arrest, which was shared on her behalf by Gilbert’s rep, Ame Van Iden.
“She is honoring the request of Tim’s attorneys not to speak publicly while the legal process unfolds,” Van Iden said.
“During this time, she is focused on supporting and caring for their very large family as they navigate this time. Melissa stands by and supports her husband and will speak publicly at the appropriate time. We ask that their privacy be respected.”
For those who don’t know, Busfield faces two charges of sexual misconduct; one of the twins and one count of child abuse.
Pursuant to the arrest warrant, the twin alleged victims met Busfield on the set of Fox series, The cleaning ladyafter Busfield joined as director in season 2.
