Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, expressed her lack of faith in the country’s justice system during a hearing before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday.

The case, presided over by Justice Tahir Abbas Sipra, involves allegations that a vehicle rammed into Rangers personnel.

During the hearing, the judge told Bushra that legal protocols had been followed, saying: “It took a while, but legal protocols were followed.”

In response, Bushra Bibi said: “It’s not a problem, but we have lost confidence in the courts. »

Judge Sipra disagrees with his statement, assuring: “It’s not like that everywhere. The justice system, despite its flaws, works. If it collapses, society itself will cease to exist. You have also appeared before me at other hearings. “

Bushra elaborated further on his concerns, sharing a disturbing experience during a previous trial. She recounted an incident in which a judge’s blood pressure reached 200, but he continued to rule against them.

“There is law in this country, but no justice. Imran Khan is imprisoned for defending the Constitution. Everything we have experienced has destroyed our trust in the justice system,” she said.

After hearing his arguments, the court granted Bushra interim bail in the case registered at Ramna police station, extending the release till February 7.

Earlier on Monday, a local court in Islamabad rejected three bail pleas filed by Bushra Bibi, wife of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

Additional Sessions Justice Muhammad Afzal Majoka heard motions on cases related to the November 26 protests, Express News reported.

Prosecutor Iqbal Kakhar and defense lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared in court during the proceedings. Bushra Bibi’s lawyer filed a request for exemption from appearance.
